5 Music Albums that Won’t Drive Mom’s Crazy

I am a very musically inclined person. My children’s names are both related to musicality. Every personality test I ever took in school told me I should go into music professionally. That would’ve never worked out I would’ve had to be more dedicated than I was at music.

My preferred music style is hard rock or metal. With a close second at chill electronica. It really depends on my mood. I have a few genres of music I can’t stand at all, one being children singing. I don’t know what it is, but those Kidz Bop albums drive me nuts!

In case you are in the same boat with me, here are 5 music albums that won’t drive mom’s crazy.

1. Jewel- The Merry Goes ‘Round

This is one of my favorites. Probably because I am a nineties baby, I enjoy Jewel. She is also very down to earth and seems like the kind of mom I would want to hang out with. My favorite on this album is “Sammy the Spider.”

2. They Might Be Giants- No!

My mother in law introduced this to me with my first daughter. She was in the 2-year-old “No” stage and she thought it was hilarious to play it for her. It is an alternative rock kind of vibe which I of course enjoy. It also makes the “No” phase a little easier to handle 😂. The songs are also short, so they are great for little’s attention span.

3. Barenaked Ladies- Snacktime

Another throwback to the nineties! Barenaked Ladies! Perhaps you shouldn’t tell your little’s the band name, other than that you can rock out! My favorite song is 7 8 9.

4. Moana Soundtrack- Various Artists

Maybe you find Disney songs repulsive and listening to “Let it Go” one more time might make you pull your hair out. I love Moana it is one of my favorite Disney movies, mainly because there is no love interest in it what soever. It is all about female empowerment and independence. Such a great thing for our daughter’s to learn! The music on the album is very in line with the pop music of today, so I highly recommend it. My favorite is “How Far I’ll Go” by Alessia Cara.

5. The Pop Ups- Giants of Science

The pop ups are a kids band, but they have a nice sound. They remind me of a hipster, indie kind of feel. With some electronic elements that are pleasing to my ear. I am totally into their songs. Their newest album is Giant’s of Science, which is about, you guessed it. Science! Check them out!

The best thing about these albums is you will enjoy them together. As opposed to being subjected to them because you want to enrich your child with age-appropriate music. No longer will you have to limit songs being played or sung. You will be bopping along with your little ones and probably be learning some things along the way!

What do you think are the best albums for children, that don’t make you crazy? Let me know in the comments below!
