Classroom Valentine Card featuring Pencils

An allergy-friendly classroom valentine card! YES, a valentine that features pencils! It will cost you a dollar at most! Frugal and crafty moms rejoice.

My daughter is in kindergarten this year, so I am new to the classroom valentine card. I, fortunately, have a lot of experience with daycare Valentine’s you can see what I did last year here. So, I don’t think it’s going to be that different. I try to be aware of allergies when doing a Valentine since my daughter has issues with intolerances. I always have that in the back of my mind, although the school hasn’t said anything about it.

Why Classroom Valentine card with pencils?!

Since it is a kindergarten classroom valentine card I wanted to do something with pencils. A non-food item that they could find useful in the classroom. Kids probably would enjoy candy more, but I am a mom, I am anything but fun! I am however practical. February is when the school year is half over so I am sure there are going to be children that have lost or forget their pencils. My daughter has special needs and doesn’t really care about the Valentine that she brings to school anyways, so I don’t think she will mind taking pencils.

My oldest has never really paid attention to her Valentine’s that she got at daycare but did like the little treats she would get. I think she might enjoy them this year more since she has friends in her class. I am also making a Daycare Valentine that is allergy-friendly for my youngest in daycare which I will be featuring next week, so make sure to check that out.

This classroom valentine printable is in 2 forms like usual one that uses the Cricut and one where you can print it out and cut it yourself. The Cricut just makes it easier. I always have liked the ease of using the Cricut for DIY projects and this is another time of the year that you can take advantage of that big purchase.

Anyways, back to the Valentine! I have done it in 3 different colors so it is suitable for both girls and boys who might want red, pink, or black. You know how kids can be, so this just elevates the arguments over color. If you would like you can match the colors to the pencils you choose. I am getting my pencils from the dollar store. The only thing I will need to do is sharpen them.
