Toddler Lunches with Yumble

Nutritious, frugal, convenient, flexible, allergy friendly, kid-friendly lunches. This is why I chose Yumble.

I have a confession to make, I am lazy. Lunches are annoying to make. Meal prepping drives me crazy. The times I have meal prepped she has not liked the meal and then there are 5 more sitting in my fridge. I am a mom, a full-time nurse, and blogger not to mention in recovery. To say I am busy is an understatement.

I don’t have the time to pack healthy and nutritious toddler lunches for my daughter every day. I always end up packing lunch meat, or some other unhealthy thing in order to get to the end of the week. Of course, it can’t be too bad because of my daughter’s issues with food, which you can read more about here.

As she has gotten older, I have been having a harder time with giving her a varied diet within the limitations of her restricted diet. She also has been sick lately and her losing weight has been on my mind. So I am trying to pack on the protein but I am so busy it’s hard to not just throw in a “yogurt” and some soup.

So, I was scrolling through Facebook one day and I saw an ad for Yumble. I was curious to see what they had in their menu and how it worked. As I am in a rural part of Pennsylvania many meal delivery companies do not even offer to be in these parts. I am in shock that they do deliver in this area.

Allergy-friendly

The second challenge was if they accommodated for my youngest’s allergies and intolerances. Sure enough, they did! I am so happy with not only being able to see what allergens were in the meals, and the ingredients. They also have a place to put what your child’s allergies are before you check out! Allergen moms rejoice!

I went to Yumble’s menu and chose the dishes that were dairy and soy free. I choose the 6 meal plan as that fit into my budget. This would be enough lunches for her to take to daycare as well as one on a Saturday.

Which would be wonderful if we choose to go somewhere. As many places cannot accommodate her allergies. It can become quite a disaster when the place is not knowledgeable about allergies.

If you get the head tilt you know you are in for trouble. Soy?! What do you mean soy? Milk?! Well, there isn’t milk in it… Maybe butter 🤦‍♀️. These are usually local places. They don’t have any education on allergies and rarely even think about people who might have them.

Convenient

To have my daughter be able to bring her own toddler lunch from Yumble. We could choose someplace to go we could not previously. Due to them not being allergy friendly. It would open up so many activities we could do as a family. Not to mention a convenience as we would not need to pack her a toddler lunch. Of course, this is if we were aware of someplace that had nothing to offer.

So far we have just started using Yumble and I am concerned that she will not have much variety with their menu. As I have had to double up on a couple of meals to get her full 6 meal plan. I will update you guys if this ends up being the case. I was also initially worried about the cost but it actually is cheaper than my usual lunch haul for my daughter which ends up being 70-80 dollars. With her food limitations being to whole food, unprocessed, or organic gluten-free options. We are actually saving money when choosing Yumble. I love being frugal if I can save money, I will.

Kid-friendly

Mealtime Fun

This is also a reoccurring service so they will pick out other lunches for you. Or you can continue to customize the dishes that your little one likes. This is great for picky eaters like my older daughter. She has a limited diet due to texture sensitivities and just being picky. I had her sit with me and pick out a couple of meals she would like from Yumble she picked out the mac and cheese and broccoli trees. After that, She was done picking 😂 food. So we did not order the service for her.

It is nice though that it is an option to add meals when needed. You can also skip during a week that you don’t need the meals. Such as a holiday or when you are on vacation. The flexibility doesn’t end there, you can also cancel your subscription anytime.

I saw no downside to getting my subscription and that’s why I took the plunge on getting Yumble. You won’t either! It is a genuinely great product, that is geared towards kids. Nutritious, frugal, convenient, flexible, and picky kid-friendly. You have to try Yumble today!
