3 Cool Sports To Try With Your Kids

As a mom, you’ll know that fitting in workouts is hard enough with the kids’ routines and your own life to live. If you manage to, you’ll fit in a quick twenty-minute workout which just about gets you enough exercise for the day – and even then, you’ll be lucky if you aren’t interrupted! I talk more about this in my post getting fit after baby. If that sounds like you, high five, girl. You’re doing awesome.

If you find that you are stuck in a boring workout routine, you will be more tempted to give up altogether. If the idea of having to work out makes you groan, you know it’s time to switch up the routine. But of course, the age-old problem: there’s no time! Well, there might be a solution. If you struggle to balance the kids’ activities with yours, why not combine the two? Trying new sports with the kids is a fun bonding experience that caters to everyone’s needs! Here are three cool sports to try with your kids.

1. Trail Riding

If your kids are old enough for this, it’s a must-do experience. Horseback riding along stunning trails will honestly enhance your experiences as a family to an amazing degree. Whether you take a vacation for this or, if you live in a rural area, just go for a day trip, you will never regret trying trail riding.

Ride beautiful horses with experienced guides along beaches, through forests or over mountains. You will see breathtaking views and see all there is to see if your state’s stunning landscapes. Plus, you and your kids will be getting back to nature and stepping out of your comfort zone.

2. Pickleball

If you want more of an easy after-school family sport, try out pickleball. Pickleball is like tennis and badminton mushed together – a kind of hybrid of these two awesome, well-known sports. It’s suitable for kids of all ages and is safe, cost-effective, and easy to play once you learn the basics! Plus it’s amazing for your cardiovascular fitness and will keep those boring workouts at bay.

If you want to try it, ensure you have the best pickleball rackets, which you can buy from many retailers.

3. Paddleboarding

If you live near a body of water, paddleboarding is a hilariously fun sport that everyone can join in – even the family dog! That’s right, multiple paddleboarders do so with their pup lying on the board peacefully as they glide across the water. Although paddle boarding looks like a walk in the park, it is actually an amazing workout, utilizing your core the entire time and strengthening your posture.

For kids, paddle boarding is an awesome new skill that really helps them with balance, core strength, and, the most important part, having fun! With the right safety equipment such as a life jacket, paddleboarding is a safe sport that is easy to access and cheap to do. Your entire family can enjoy time on the water and experience new things together – whilst getting a workout done in the process!

So, if that workout is getting dull and the kids are getting bored. Try one of these sports to try with your kids. See if you can have them get some energy out and a good work out in for yourself. There is no downside.
