Ocean and Dinosaur Theme Flashcards
Do your kids love the ocean? Or, do they love dinosaurs? Do they want to learn about their alphabet and their favorite subject? Then these ocean and dinosaur theme flashcards are for you!
In my previous post of dinosaur-themed preschool worksheets I talked about doing flashcards. To tell you the truth I did originally plan on posting those the next week, but then I realized that Mother’s Day was right around the corner and I had a couple of things I wanted to post for that. So I ended up pushing these back for a few weeks. Fashionably late, here they are.
As I said before, I am going to be doing two themes that coordinate with the recent printable packages I have done. One being ocean theme and the other being dinosaur themed. So I thought these flashcards would be fun to do as well.
I am not encouraging that your child memorizes the different types of dinosaurs or ocean creatures. Rather, I am encouraging alphabet awareness with a subject that your child likes and wants to know more about. I would be hard-pressed to know any of these off the top of my head.
I honestly had to look up a lot of the dinosaurs to be able to make those. They are not all well known that’s for sure! I tried to go with more realistic pictures with the dinosaur cards and with the ocean ones I used more cartoon or anthropomorphic pictures. Each letter in the alphabet corresponds to the type of dinosaur or ocean creature. You get extra points if you can accurately pronounce the dinosaur names.
Printing Suggestions
There are four ocean and dinosaur theme flashcards on one sheet, which is configured for a regular-sized piece of paper. I would use cardstock and cut them out with some scissors or you can laminate them to make them last longer. I don’t have a laminator so we are not going to be doing that. You should also print these out in color as the background and pictures will not turn out as well if they are in black and white.
If you download and use these please let me know in the comments below or if you are so inclined tag and talk to me on social media. I am on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. I hope everyone is staying safe and staying at home to save lives. Even if you are being gradually opened it is so important. Practice social distancing and wear a mask when you are unable to adequately social distance or might talk to people. I hope to hear from you soon!
