You Can’t Stop Kids From Growing But Here’s How To Make The Most of It

Many parents wish they could completely stop time and freeze their children at a certain age so they can have more quality time with them while they are young. Unfortunately, science hasn’t allowed us to have anything like this yet – but you can ensure you’re going to make the most of it every day. Here are some ideas that will help you to ensure your bond with your child is strong and that you are making the absolute most of your time with them while they are young.

1. Practice Being In The Moment

We all lead busy lives, and this often means we’re either living in the past or the future at any given moment which hinders us to make the most of it. Unfortunately, this takes away from the present moment, which is all any of us really have. It can be tough, but you can practice staying in the present moment to train your brain to do it. You can take deep breaths, meditate, and really immerse yourself in each moment. When you start worrying about the past or future, bring yourself back gently.

2. Eat At Least One Meal Together A Day

Eating one meal a day with your family can ensure you’re all spending at least a little quality time together. Not only that, many studies have shown that there is an abundance of benefits from eating together as a family. It could be dinner, breakfast, or lunch – whatever suits your family. 3. Make And Find Keepsakes

Keepsakes are things you can make or buy to help remind you of these amazing times together. Things like thumbies fingerprint jewelry are a lovely way to keep your children with you no matter how old they get or how far away they fly from the nest. You can also make scrapbooks, time capsules, and various other things to commemorate to make the most of it.

4. Spend Quality Time Together Daily

Make sure you aim to spend quality time together daily and have a real conversation. Ask them what went well today, share your own stories, and just enjoy being with one another. Tuck them in with a story before bed and this could become a special ritual that benefits both of you. Some families even like to take a pajama walk before bed. They get the kids completely ready for bed and go on a gentle walk in their pajamas. Avoid stimulating conversation, snacks, and anything that could wake them up. 5. Have Set Times for Using Technology

Phones, tablets, computers, and other devices are pretty much a part of our everyday lives now. You can’t avoid them, but you can have set times for them so that they don’t interfere with family times and healthy routines.

6. Count Your Blessings Together Every Day

Spend time talking about what you’re grateful for each day and encourage your kids to do the same. It’ll benefit them in the long run and give them a healthy mindset.
